Happy 4th of July

I think July 4th may be my favorite holiday. We got to go to Larry and Doris' (Joni's in-laws) for the weekend. We went down Friday night after John got off call. We ate as soon as we got there. The food is always good there. Then, Chris, Colin and their friend Brandon put off the fireworks. Chris always does the fireworks and it is always good. He does an excellent job. It's like seeing a real firework show. Better than that even.

Thanks - Chris.... It was awesome as usual.

Happy birthday Aunt Joni

Aunt Joni had a birthday. She actually had 2 parties. We had dinner at Mom's on her birthday. Then Chris had a surprise party for her on Saturday. Then, Sunday was Father's day. We had a lot of fun that weekend. The weather was great and so was all the food.

Busy, Busy

Sorry, it's been a while since I have updated. We've dealt with Chicken pox... and the dentist. Suzi had 4 fillings and 2 caps.

Suzi got her vacination for chicken pox, but, she still got a really mild case. And, guess what...so did Grandma Susie and Uncle Chris...

Smokey

Mom and Dad got a new kitten. His name is Smokey. He is adorable. And, really playful. I had forgotten how frisky kittens could get. Mom and Dad say now, that he likes to play hide and seak. He also likes it when they get the laser pointer out. He really is a good cat. Mom and Dad are crazy about him. And so is Suzi. We can't really have a cat because John and I are so allergic to them. So, Suzi can't wait to go over to Mammaw and Pap's to see him. She is always asking if Smokey misses her.

Mom wins big at Casino

Saturday, Mom, Dad, John and I were invited to an elete member party at the casino. They had free food and free alcohol. They also gave away a Total of $10,000. AND..... Mom won $5,000. Yea Mom!!! Can you believe it? We couldn't either. I have never seen so much money.

Thank goodness for Paula who kept Suzi over night. We were there until around 4am. It was wayyyyyyyy past my bed time.

Conviction

It's pretty bad when a 4 year old puts you under conviction. This is Suzi praying before she eats. She insisted that John and I fold our hands and close our eyes as she prayed. Needless to say, Suzi and I found a new church.....

Roasting Chicken

This picture is adorable. John and I were watching a Nascar race. We told Suzi to play in her room or watch a movie in our bed. The next thing we know...she was very quiet. We knew she was doing something....but, were taken totally by surprise. She fell asleep in our bed with this chicken suit on. Thank goodness the airconditioner was on. She would have "Cooked". This was going to be her Halloween costume!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was great. I got a singing card from John and a home made picture card from Suzi. It was a picture of Me and Suzi and she wrote in it. It was adorable. Mom, Dad, Joni, Chris, Brittney, Colin, John, Suzi and I all went to the Casino for Sunday Brunch. It was nice that we all could be together.

On Friday night, Paula, John, Suzi and I went to Montana Mikes. John, and I got Prime Rib. I really like eating there. We made a home made card for Paula. It was a picture of Paula and Suzi. And, Suzi colored and wrote all over it. I think Paula like it. I think that is better than a card that you go buy.

Splash House

We have been going up to Marion to the water park. Suzi loves it. Last year she was a little scared. This year - she has no fear. She has so much fun. There is a kiddy area that she can play in that has slides and a huge bucket that drops probably 100 gallons of water. Suzi doesn't even have to wear a life jacket. She can touch the bottom and life guards are within a few feet of her always. It only costs $5.00 for adults and $4.00 for children. We have already gone 5 times. My nephew Colin loves it too. There are adult slides for him. Personally, I like the lazy river. I could stay on that all day. If anyone wants to go with us, call. Here is a picture of the bucket dropping the water.

Swimmer's ear

Well, Suzi complained of an ear ache last night. She said that her ear hurt really bad. So, I was off today and took her to the doctor. He said that her ear was really bad. Said that Swimmer's ear is harder to cure than a regular ear infection.

So, we have antibiotic ear drops and an oral antibiotic too.

This is all from swimming on vacation. She love it and had a blast. She couldn't wait to go every day.

The doc said that she will now be prone to this from now on. We have to get her ear plugs. (which he said she will hate - but has to learn to live with them.)

Vacation

Vacation at last...............

We went to Mesick Michigan mushroom hunting. Mom and Dad (Mammaw and Pap) went with us. We stayed in a hotel in Cadilac Michigan. Our hotel rooms were connected. We had so much fun. John, Dad and I would get up in the morning and hunt for a few hours and Mom and Suzi would go swim and use the hot tub. They did go mushroom hunting once. Not sure either of them like it though.

We found a few (185) mushrooms. We had hoped to do much better. But, we did get to bring some home to my sister Joni and her family. Plus, we froze some too.

The hotel was great. The food was good. The rates were cheap. We only had one night of loud guests in other rooms. John had to threaten them at about midnight the night before we were getting up early to leave.

When we got there, it had been dry and cold. We were lucky that we found as many as we did. It rained a couple of the nights we were there and that helped in us finding what we did find.

Easter bunny breakfast

Suzi was in the Easter Bunny style show again the year. She had a blast. Her buddy is Kendall. He wouldn't participate unless He could walk with Suzi. Poor little guy - she pulled him along.

She also met the Nestle Bunny.

And....got her face painted.

She had a blast.

Croup

Ok - now we're all sick with this sinus - respiratory crud that's going around. They say it lasts for weeks. I'm tired of it already. I have had the flu twice now. We all have the upper resp. stuff. Suzi had the croup. Had to take her to the doctor. I have pretty much lost my voice. Tired of it already..............

Who's more worn out?

Here is a picture of John and Suzi sleeping. John went to Ky for 9 days and worked the storm for light and power. This is the night he got home. Not sure who was more worn out - John or Suzi. I couldn't wake either of them up. Ended up carrying Suzi to bed and left John asleep on the couch.

Christmas break is over

Well, break is over. Back to work. Bummer. It was sure hard to get up this morning. I think we all got our days and nights mixed up - especially Suzi.

And........... the Colts lost. That really depressed me. They sure didn't play to win. The Chargers were the best team.
